I have over 20 years experience in the field of federal taxation. I earned an LLM in Taxation from Boston University, a J.D. from North Carolina Central University, and a B.A from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During my tenure at the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, I represented the IRS in U.S. Tax Court, tried cases, and worked with various arms of the IRS, providing advice on collection and other issues. Serving as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for over 5 years, I represented the IRS weekly in the Northern District of Ohio Bankruptcy Court in Cleveland representing the IRS in issues ranging from dischargeability to return filing requirements, and cash collateral hearings. I have made presentations before the the Cleveland Tax Institute on developing tax issues, as well as before the Bankruptcy Bench Bar Retreat. The goal of my representation has always been to defend my client vigorously while insuring that the tax law is fairly administered.
